Financial Information
The Financial Aid Office assists students with every aspect of the financial aid process. Types of aid include grants, loans, scholarships, and student employment. See the Allen website at https://www.allencc.edu/paying-for-college/financial-aid for more information about financial assistance.
Applying for Financial Aid:
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only form that a student is required to complete to be considered for student assistance from any of the federal Title IV programs. No additional forms are required by Allen Community College. The FAFSA may be completed online at studentaid.gov.
The priority filing deadline is May 1st for the fall semester and November 1st for the spring semester. A student should file by the priority deadline to make sure financial aid is processed and awarded before classes begin.
Those interested in employment at the college should complete the Student Employment Application each year employment is desired. The FAFSA will be used to determine if the student is eligible for Federal Work-Study.
Financial Aid Eligibility:
In general, to be eligible for federal financial aid a student must:
Demonstrate financial need (for most programs)
Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen
Have a valid Social Security Number, if required
Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student in an eligible degree or certificate program
